Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 3/12/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (4) children present and (2) caregivers. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) children?s records and (2) caregiver records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Please contact me if you have any questions at Stacy.Doyle@dss.virginia.gov or 571-835-0386.
Based on interview, the provider did not have a working portable battery-operated weather band radio, and extra batteries kept in a designated area and available to caregivers at all times. Evidence: 1. The provider had a radio, but it required to be plugged into electricity.
Plan of Correction:
I will buy a radio and batteries.
Standard #:
22VAC40-111-210-A
Description:
Based on interview, the caregivers did not obtain a minimum of 16 hours of training annually in areas relevant of their job responsiblities. Evidence: 1. The provider stated that they had not completed any training in 2020 due to COVID.
Plan of Correction:
I will do the training and the assistant will in two weeks.
