A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 2/1/2024 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 39 children present with 10 staff supervising.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based on a review of five staff records and interview, the vendor did not ensure that two staff annually completed the department's health and safety update course as required.
Evidence: 1. The record of staff #4 (date of employment: 9/20/2022) contained a health and safety update certificate dated 11/7/2022. The record did not contain the 2023 update training. The record of staff #5 (date of employment: 8/31/2022) contained a health and safety update certificate dated 8/25/2022. The record did not contain the 2023 update training. 2. The vendor acknowledged that the two staff had not completed the department's health and safety update course annually as required.
Plan of Correction:
Monitor annual and monthly trainings during monthly staff meetings to ensure trainings are up to date.
