Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/12/2023. There were 44 children, ages 5 months ? 4 years, 8 staff and 1 administrative staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during playground time, music time, circle time and lunch. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:00am and departed the center at 12:10pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances, such as cleaning materials, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: Licensing staff observed a red and gray mop bucket with mop containing water with cleaning solution in the 2?s bathroom under the sink on the left. Children were not observed in the area but it was accessible to children.
Plan of Correction:
Provider removed mop bucket out of the area children use.
Standard #:

Description:

Evidence: The first aid kit did not include the following items: tweezers
Plan of Correction:
Provider replaced tweezers in first aid bag downstairs.
