22.1 Early Childhood Care and Education

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 1:30 p.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. There were 60 children in care ages 6 months through 5 years old under the care and supervision of 8 staff.

Four children's records and three new staff records were reviewed. Five medications, authorizations and three allergy care plans were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description: Based on review of staff records, the center did not obtain documentation of the results of fingerprint background checks by the first day of employment. Evidence: Staff #1, hired 4/24/2023, national fingerprint check was dated 4/28/2023.

Description: Based on review of diaper ointments, it was determined that not all requirements were met. Evidence: In the infant room, there was a diaper ointment not labeled with the child's name.

Description: Based on observation and interview with staff, all prepared infant formula was not dated and labeled with the child's name.
Evidence:
1. In the infant room fridge, there was a 'arcadia brand' water bottle filled with a white liquid that was not dated or labeled with the child's name.
2. Staff confirmed this was prepared infant formula
