Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 09/07/2022 between the hours of approximately 11:00 am and 12:00 pm. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 9 months to 3 years, with 2 caregivers supervising. Children were observed while waking up from nap, free toy playing, handwashing and transitioning to lunch time. Lunch today was white rice, lentils, mixed vegetables and mandarin slices.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and nutrition. There were no medications on site today. A total of 2 child records and 4 staff / household members records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on observation, soft bedding was used around infants. Evidence: 1) On the date of inspection, Child #3 (9 months), Child #4 (10 months) and Child #5 (13 months) were observed inside their cribs, waking up from their naps. Blankets were observed inside each one of these occupied cribs.
Plan of Correction:
The provider shall remove the blankets from the cribs.
