Technical Assistance:
Requirements for children's records were discussed with the provider during the inspection.
Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 1/23/20 from 1:45pm until 2:20pm. At the time of entrance, there were 4 children in care with the provider, for a total of 8 points. A sample of 4 children's records and 2 provider/household member records were reviewed. A tour of the home was conducted to ensure compliance with all standards. The children were observed resting quietly during nap time. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency drills and the emergency evacuation plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice and were discussed with the provider during the exit interview.
Based on record review and interview, the provider did not ensure that each child's record contains an up-to-date immunization record.
Evidence: 1. The record for child 1 does not contain documentation of immunizations. Child 1 has a date of enrollment of 1/13/20 and was in care on the day of the inspection. 2. The provider confirmed that child 1's record does not contain documentation of immunizations.
Plan of Correction:
The provider will request a copy of child 1's immunization record from the parent at pick-up this afternoon. Going forward, the provider will ensure that immunizations records are obtained by the child's first day of attendance.
