Discussed with the Director the current COVID-19 guidelines and best practices that have been issued for childcare programs.
-Children ages two through four are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings while indoors, especially if children are in close contact.
-Practice social distancing to the maximum extent while still allowing for the care and developmental needs of children. Staff need to be in close proximity to children when providing care; however, programs should keep children at least six feet apart from each other and limit physical proximity as best as they are able.
-Implement small group activities and encourage individual play/activities.
-Physically arrange the room to promote individual play.

This investigation was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 12/7/20 in response to a complaint received by the licensing office on 11/23/20 regarding allegations of not following COVID-19 requirements for mask wearing, health/temperature screenings, and requiring parents to wear masks if they enter the building. The Licensing Inspector conducted a virtual walk-thru of the center with the Director, interviewed staff, and reviewed documentation. Evidence gathered during the inspection did not support the allegations and no violations were issued.
