Technical Assistance:
It was recommend that the center utilize a coversheet that summarizes and totals annual training hours in each staff member's file.
Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/7/2022 and concluded on 9/8/2022. There were a total of 31 children with 6 staff members present. Children were observed during handwriting practice, singing songs, coloring, and playing with toys. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on file review, the center did not obtain results of a criminal history record information check, or a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding 5 years.

Center will obtain copies of the staff member's criminal history record information check, and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry for all states they've resided in the preceding 5 years.

Description:
Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence #1: A bleach wipe container was found in an unlockable clear plastic tub inside the bathroom used by a classroom of 4 year old's.
Evidence #2: A can of spray paint was found in an unlocked cabinet inside the bathroom used by another classroom of 4 year old's.
Plan of Correction:
Bleach wipes and spray paint can were removed during the inspection.
