Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documentation review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was initiated on August 17, 2021 and concluded on August 20, 2021. There were 20 children present with five staff supervising. A code compliance inspection was also conducted on this date.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation and interview, the vendor did not ensure all hazardous substance such as cleaning materials in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children.
Evidence: During the virtual inspection, the licensing inspector observed cleaning chemicals sitting on a cabinet in the Infant Room. A member of management stated the cabinets did not have locks.
Plan of Correction:
We will add safety locks to the cabinets and make sure the cleaning products are locked up at all times.
