Comments:
A code compliance inspection was conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from approximately 9:35am to 11:30am. There were nine children in attendance and a total of three staff directly supervising. During the inspection, the children and staff were observed participating in a variety of activities. Staff were observed having positive interactions with the children. All areas of the facility including classrooms, kitchen, hallways, playgrounds, and bathrooms were inspected. Five children's records and five staff records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22.1-289.058
Description: Based on observation and interview, the child day program, which was build before 2015, was not equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.

Evidence: 1) A carbon monoxide detector was not observed during the walk-through of the facility. 2) During interview, management stated that they have not yet installed a carbon monoxide detector.

Plan of Correction: A carbon monoxide detector will be ordered and installed as soon as possible.
