The proper usage of masks were reviewed, in addition to how to social distance during meal time.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 07/17/20 and concluded on 07/22/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 69 children present and 12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on observation the center did not ensure all requirements were met when hand washing. Evidence: A staff member in the 2 year-old room was observed using her hands to open the diaper pail instead of using the foot pedal to prevent her hands from touching the pail.
Plan of Correction:
The following plan of correction was provided by the center: Staff member retrained on proper hand-washing procedures and management will monitor that proper hand-washing procedures are followed daily by all staff members.
