Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 48 children in care, with a total of 10 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, new staff records, staff training, background checks, emergency preparedness items, summer ointment products, staff:child interactions, the physical plant, and children's nutrition were inspected today.
The children were observed taking a walk, playing outside, engaging in classroom educational activities, and eating lunch. The children were served spaghetti with meat sauce, blueberries, spinach salad, and milk for lunch today.

Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record was not complete.

Child record A does not include documentation showing that the parent has reviewed the child's contact information within the past year. This record was most recently reviewed on 2/5/18.

Description:
Based on a review of children's sunscreen items, it was determined that some of the children's products were on site without all required information.
Evidence:
1 - Two sunscreen products were not labeled with each child's name.
2 - Three sunscreen authorizations did not include the actual name of the specific product to be applied to the child.
Plan of Correction:
The sunscreen bottles will be labeled and authorization forms will be corrected by the parents.
