Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 48 children in care, with a total of 10 staff members assigned to their direct supervision. Children's records, new staff records, staff training, background checks, emergency preparedness items, summer ointment products, staff:child interactions, the physical plant, and children's nutrition were inspected today. The children were observed taking a walk, playing outside, engaging in classroom educational activities, and eating lunch. The children were served spaghetti with meat sauce, blueberries, spinach salad, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:30am and 12:00pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that one record was not complete. Evidence: Child record A does not include documentation showing that the parent has reviewed the child's contact information within the past year. This record was most recently reviewed on 2/5/18.

Plan of Correction: The parent will be asked to review the file.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-B
Description: Based on a review of children's sunscreen items, it was determined that some of the children's products were on site without all required information. Evidence: 1 - Two sunscreen products were not labeled with each child's name. 2 - Three sunscreen authorizations did not include the actual name of the specific product to be applied to the child.

Plan of Correction: The sunscreen bottles will be labeled and authorization forms will be corrected by the parents.
