Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/4/2021 and concluded on 5/4/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to deny employment to anyone who has been convicted of any barrier crime as defined in ? 19.2-392.02 within or outside the Commonwealth. Evidence: Staff 2 was hired by the agency 9/4/2020 and had a fingerprint check dated 9/8/2020 with a "not eligible" status for employment in child care. Staff 2 worked in a licensed child day center from 3/1/2021 to 5/4/2021.
Plan of Correction:
Staff person was removed from the floor on 5/4/2021 and was terminated on 5/7/2021.
