8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS
Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 5/08/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 27 children present with 5 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on staff interview and review of five staff records, the facility failed to have each staff current in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. Evidence: Staff 1 had CPR certification that expired 9/2022 and Staff 5 had CPR certification that expired 11/2022. Staff 2, Staff 3, and Staff 4 did not have documentation of CPR certification. Management stated that 5 of the 5 staff did not have current CPR certification.

All staff will get updated first aid and CPR certification.
