This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 7/2/2020 and concluded on 7/13/2020. The Provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 4 children present with 2 caregivers. The inspector emailed the Provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the Provider to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and interview, assistants records did not contain all required information. Evidence: Caregiver #2 file does not contain a date of hire. The provider stated that she thought the assistant caregiver started working on 1/20/2020, and then later stated that she thought they started on 2/24/2020. Caregiver #2's date of hire is not documented.
Plan of Correction:
I believe that she started on 2/24/2020 based on when the previous caregiver worked until.

Description:
Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information. Evidence: 1. Child #1's (date of enrollment: 10/3/2019) file does not contain documentation that the child's age and identity has been verified or a second emergency contact. This was previously cited at the last inspection on 1/16/2020.
Plan of Correction:
I will text the parents and have them provide this information at pick-up.
