Comments:
An annual RECDC inspection was conducted on today's date. The center has 110 children in care with 14 classroom staff. All groupings are in ratio.Observed 7 classrooms. The center has rooms with lots of space and supplies for the children to explore. Observed the children having circle time, reading stories, learning about colors, playing with playdough and in home living and well as eating lunch and playing outside. For lunch the children had corn dogs, cucumbers and applesauce. Interaction between staff and children observed in all the groupings.This inspection was started at 10:10 and ended at 2:10 Please call me at 703-203-8659 if you have any questions regarding this inspection.
Based on the review of 22 staff records, it was determined that the center failed to ensure that staff have the required background checks. Evidence: after review of 22 staff records it was found that all staff are missing the sworn disclosure statement. Staff 4 is missing the Child Protective Services check and has been employed for more that 30 days.
Plan of Correction:
We will have staff fill out the sword disclosure statements today and we will send in the cps check for staff 4.

Description:
Based on the review of the parent handbook and materials available to the public, the center failed to include some of the items that needs to be disclosed in writing to the parents, guidance and the public. Evidence: The following items are missing from the parent handbook. enrollment capacity, health requirements from staff and the public liability insurance.
Plan of Correction:
I will add it to the current parent handbook and send out an addendum for the parents.

Description:
Based on the review of 22 staff records, it was determined that the center failed to get the fingerprint based criminal records check determination letter for two staff. Evidence: Based on the file review one staff, staff 4, is missing the fingerprint based letter , she has been employed for more than 30 days. Another staff , staff 9 is missing the correct finger prints, the Virginia State police fingerprint record is in her file.
Plan of Correction:
We will send the staff with no fingerprints home to get it done and we will make sure the other staff get the correct fingerprints
