22.1-289.03 Religious Exempt Code 22.1-289.036 Background check
Comments:
An unannounced Code Compliance inspection was conducted with the director and one staff member on September 29, 2022 beginning at 12:10 PM and ending at 2:50 PM. There were 22 children, ages 3 months through 7 years old, in care during the inspection. The children were observed playing with age appropriate toys and games. Infants were observed interacting with their caregivers. Five children's records were in compliance with the code requirements. Five staff records were reviewed. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. Facility policies and procedures were reviewed and in compliance.

Based on a review of documentation, not all of the facility staff had documentation of a central registry background check within 30 days of their first day of employment. Evidence: Staff A's (start date: 8/20/2022) record did not contain documentation of a central registry finding.
Plan of Correction:
The director has already requested the central registry background checks but the results have not been sent back to the program. The director will follow up regarding the results and place the background check in the staff's record.
