Technical Assistance:
The Licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. T monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on March 4, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were ten children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children's records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice. Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that staff received Recognizing child abuse and neglect and the legal requirements for reporting suspected child abuse as required by the Code of Virginia.
Evidence: Staff #1 and staff #2's records do not have documentation of completing the child abuse and neglect training.
Plan of Correction:
I will have staff obtain certification of completion of Child Abuse and Neglect training.
