Potable Water Lead Testing Requirements The VDOE recently distributed memos to licensed child day programs, certified preschools and religiously exempt child day centers, sharing the requirement to develop and implement a plan to test potable water pursuant to ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia. The VDOE will begin determining compliance with this statute effective January 1, 2025. The memos can be found on the VDOE child care website: www.childcare.virginia.gov.
New: MAT Seizure Rescue Nasal Spray Online Course The Medication Administration Training (MAT) Program recently announced the new MAT Seizure Rescue Nasal Spray (SRNS) online course. The training is available for free on the MAT Online Learning Center and will enable MAT-Certified providers to administer this emergency medication quickly and correctly in the event of an emergency seizure situation.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted 5/1/2024 between the hours of 11:35am through 12:15pm. There are currently no children enrolled in the program and no children were present at the time of inspection. A total of 1 staff file, and 4 household member?s files were reviewed. A complete inspection of the programming space, staff records, emergency supplies and emergency procedures were completed today. No new staff have been hired since the last inspection. The provider advised there was no medication on site today. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.
