Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/29/2024 between the hours of approximately 10:00 am and 11:40 am. There were 3 children present, ranging in ages from 7 months to 3 years, with 2 caregivers supervising. Children were observed while playing with toys. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on review of required posted documents, the provider did not ensure that all required documents related to the terms of the license were posted on the premises of the program. Description:
Based on observation and interview with the Provider, nonprescription medication administration did not meet all requirements. Evidence: On the date of inspection, two nonprescription medication, were observed in the fdh. Upon interview with the Provider, the following was determined: medication belonged to Child # 3 and Child #4; medication has been administered once, date was unknown; there was no written medication authorization form for either medication available for review. 1) Medication must be administered by a caregiver 18 years of age or older who meets the requirements in 8VAC20-800-220 A - The medication was administered by the Provider. The most recent MAT certificate available for review was dated with an expiration date of 12/13/2021. 2) Medication must be labeled with the child's name - Either medication was labeled with the child's name.
