Comments:
Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 9am through 1pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 26 children in care with 7 staff. Children present ranged in age from 7 months to four years old. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based on observation and interview the center failed to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff work with children, a current confidential written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions. Evidence: 1 - There is a list of children and their allergies posted in the classroom on a wall in such a way that anyone in the room would be able to read the list. 2 - Staff 3 confirmed that the list was posted on the wall where anyone can see the information.
Plan of Correction:
Center management will remind and retrain all staff in the need for all allergy information to be maintained confidentially.
