Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 1:50pm to 3:30pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The provider and one assistant's records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training and current certification in First Aid and CPR and were in compliance. There are no children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies. Based on interview with the provider, lockdown drills are not practiced at least annually. Evidence: The provider stated that she was unaware of the requirement for a lockdown drill.
Plan of Correction:
I will begin doing one this month and one each year.
