A self-reported other monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/3/23 and concluded on 11/3/23. The inspector reviewed compliance in the area of programming. The inspection started at 2:45pm and concluded at 3:15pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of video the center failed to ensure that behavioral guidance is constructive in nature, age and stage appropriate, and shall be intended to redirect children to appropriate behavior.
Evidence: Video shows that on 11/2/23 at approximately 10:20am a staff member smack and push a child's arm from between the slates of a crib when the child was reaching into the crib, while standing outside of the crib, to retrieve a toy she had put in the crib. This action by the staff member was not appropriate behavior guidance.
Plan of Correction:
The staff member was immediately brought into the main office and was shown the video. We also self-reported to licensing at this time. The staff member has been removed from the classroom pending the outcome. All staff will be re-trained on child abuse and behavior guidance.

Video shows that on 11/2/23 at approximately 10:20ama staff member smacked and pushed the arm of a child when the child was reaching into the crib, between the slats, to retrieve a toy. This action by the staff is considered a forbidden action, and not an appropriate behavior guidance action.
