Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/26/2024. There were a total of 11 children (25 points) observed with 2 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, games, snack, and bathroom breaks. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel and household members, physical environment, care of children, handwashing, diapering, medication, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 caregiver/household member records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the provider did not ensure potentially poisonous substances, such as cleaning agents were stored away from areas inaccessible to children. Evidence: Under the sink in the bathroom that the children use, there was several cleaning supplies unlocked and accessible to children. The cleaning supplies included bleach, windex, and Clorox.

The cleaning materials will be moved to a locked cabinet or the cabinet lock under the sink will be fixed.

Description:
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that children's hands were washed with liquid soap and warm running water at required times. Evidence: Caregiver 1 changed a child's diaper and did not wash their hands or the child's hands when the diaper change was completed.
Plan of Correction:
All staff will wash hands after every diaper change and at appropriate times throughout the day.
