Comments:
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 09/27/2019, between approximately 7:30am and 8:25am, in response to a complaint made to our office regarding General Qualifications for Caregivers, Qualifications and Requirements for Providers and Substitute Providers, Infant and Toddler Equipment and Forbidden Actions. Based on interviews conducted, observations and record review, the evidence supports the claim regarding documentation for substitutes but does not support the other claims. The Licensing inspector observed children eating breakfast (cereal with bananas and milk) in a family style manner, children arriving at the family day home and interactions between the Provider/caregivers and children. Infant and Toddler equipment was inspected and procedures for use and storage were discussed. Areas of noncompliance are documented on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact stephanie.salvatori@dss.virginia.gov.
Based on interviews and record review, documentation providing the time of arrivals and departures on each day that the substitute provider works, was not in compliance. Evidence: The Provider stated the records were kept but she was unable to find it while the Licensing Inspector was present. Therefore the time sheet was unavailable for review.
Plan of Correction:
I will make the required substitute time sheets available for review in the future and keep the documentation for at least two years.
