Technical Assistance:
An out of state search of the sex offender registry must be completed for all staff/household residents (Family Day Homes) who have resided outside of the state of Virginia within the past 5 years. In addition, an out of state criminal history record search must be completed for staff/household residents who have resided in any non-NFF states within the past 5 years. This requirement also applies to any staff who currently reside outside of the state Virginia.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/29/2021 and concluded on 2/1/2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 53 children present and 11 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of children's records, it was determined that two records do no contain the name, address, and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. Evidence: Children's records A and C do not include the address for each emergency contact person.
Plan of Correction:
The information was requested from each parent on the day of the inspection.
