Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on December 5, 2019 from 1:20pm until 2:20pm. Upon arrival to the facility, there were 50 children present with 11 staff members. The children were observed participating in age appropriate activities and napping. A sample of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The licensing inspector toured the facility and reviewed supervision, emergency supplies, practice drills, nutrition, physical plant, required postings, and administration. There was a violation cited in the area of physical plant. An exit meeting was conducted with the facility director prior to the end of the inspection.
Based upon observation and interview the provider did not ensure that the electrical outlets located inside of the facility had protective covers to prevent potential injuries of children.
Evidence:
1. During the inspectors tour of the facility it was found that an electrical outlet located in the cafeteria room of the facility did not have a protective cover. a. The electrical outlet without a protective cover could be a potential hazard to children. b. The staff #1 toured the preschool room with the inspector and also identified and confirmed the violation.
