An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 01/31/24 from 9:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Five staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training, Health & Safety Update training, and current certification in First Aid and CPR. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records were reviewed for allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was documented on 09/13/23. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on review of five staff records, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children obtained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid within 90 days of the date of employment.
Evidence: The record for Staff #4, with a start date of 09/08/23 did not contain documentation of CPR and First Aid certification.
