Comments:
An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 4/24/24 in response to a complaint received in the licensing office regarding allegations of forbidden actions and behavior guidance of children. Based on interviews the allegation regarding behavior guidance was determined to be valid and the allegation regarding forbidden actions was unable to be substantiated due to insufficient corroborating evidence. Other violations that were not part of the complaint were also cited during the investigation. Based on interviews, the center failed to ensure that a variety of daily activities for all age groups shall be age and stage appropriate.
Evidence: Interviews with staff revealed that Staff #1 played a ?pushing game? with children in the Pre-K classroom. Staff #1 was observed pushing children in the Pre-K classroom to initiate a game where the children push back.

Based on interviews, the center did not ensure that behavioral guidance was constructive in nature and redirected children to appropriate behavior and resolve conflicts.
Evidence: Interviews with staff confirmed that Staff #1 watched children (in the school age room) hit one another and did not redirect the children. Staff in adjoining classrooms observed the incident and directed Staff #1 to intervene.
