This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Preliminary data was obtained from the vendor on 1/8/2021. An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on 1/25/2021, at which time the vendor was contacted by email to initiate the inspection, and concluded on 1/28/2021. The inspector emailed the vendor a list of items required to complete the inspection. The vendor reported there were four children in care and two staff members. The inspector reviewed two children?s records and two staff records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care program. Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.
Based on review of two staff records, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that staff members had a search of the central registry (CPS Check) on file within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: There were not CPS checks available for either of the staff records reviewed. Both staff were listed previously on staff/child ratio sheets.
Plan of Correction:
Facility will either locate or resubmit CPS checks. Once received, results will be forwarded to Licensing Inspector
