An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today on all 4 licensed Bright Start schools. All 4 schools are located within walking distance, including the administrative office. The inspection was from approximately 9:50am to 2pm. The physical space, 10 children's records, 6 staff records (including 3 newer staff), evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies and required posted documents were reviewed. Records were organized. A sampling of medications were reviewed and also in compliance. Attendance and daily reports are kept on Bright Wheel and meals are catered into the schools. Infant bottles, changing areas, cribs and diapering procedures were observed. Ratios in each classroom were in compliance. Children were observed in gross motor activities, listening to stories during circle time, engaged in arts/crafts, in dramatic play centers and interacting with staff members. Staff members were engaging in a positive manner with children and were welcoming in the classrooms. Age appropriate materials and activities were available in each classroom. Children were also observed preparing for lunch and rest time. Today's lunch was Turkey, cheese, rolls, 3 bean salad, fresh fruit and milk. No violations were cited today.
