Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:45am to 11:00am with the Director. There were eight children in care, all two years of age, supervised by three staff. The children were observed building block towers with Teachers while counting in Spanish, playing with rainbow stacking toys with Teachers, washing hands, eating breakfast, having circle time, and playing play-doh with Teachers. Positive interactions between children and Teachers were observed. Five children?s records and two staff records were reviewed and were in compliance. The Center has all staff with current certification in CPR and First Aid, and all staff trained in Daily Health Observation Training. No medications were on site but the center has staff current in Medication Administration Training (MAT). The attendance and emergency drill log were reviewed and were in compliance. The most recent evacuation drill was documented 1/22/20 and the most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented 9/20/19. The most recent Fire Inspection on file was dated 12/9/19 and the most recent Health Inspection on file was dated 4/4/2019. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided by a catering service. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation, a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing was not used. Evidence: Both of the diaper changing pads had small holes or tears in the surface, making it absorbent.

Plan of Correction: I noticed that yesterday and am planning to purchase new changing pads today.
