Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Guidance, resources, model forms and training links can be found on the website childcareva.com. The assistant will need to complete her training hours by Fall 2022.
Comments:
A monitoring visit was conducted on-site today. Five children were present with two caregivers for fourteen points which is within ratios for supervision. Observed children transitioning to lunch (lunch is bought from home), hand washing, infant care (nap and eating) as well as record review and a tour of the daycare space. 2 records were reviewed as well as training certifications. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.
