Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-11:30am. There were 75 children supervised by 11 direct care staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, injury reports, programming, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, writing and playing outside. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3
Description: Based on observation 1 electrical outlet did not have a protective cover.
Evidence:
One electrical outlet in the Intermediates classroom was not covered with a protective cover.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection, staff just unplugged the Ipad. We will make sure to cover the outlets immediately.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J
Description: Based on observation, not all medications are kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
In the Pre K 2 classroom, two medications were in an unlocked bag in a tote bag hanging on a hook.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection, we will make sure all staff locks the plastic medicine bags.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G
Description: When food is brought from it must be labeled with child's name and date.
Evidence:
A lunch box with food, was brought from home and is not labeled with child's name and date.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection and will ensure names and dates on all food brought from home.
