Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:00pm. There were 76 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 11 direct care staff. The physical plant, programming and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, singing, building and circle time. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, are not being kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: Cleaning supplies and air freshener (keep out of reach of children), are not being kept in a locked place making them accessible to children.

Items were removed from area and will be kept in a locked place and inaccessible to children.

Description:
Based on observation and conversation with staff, the diapering surface is not being cleaned with soap and at least room temperature water and sanitized after each use. Evidence: The diapering surface in the beginners classroom is not following the correct procedures for cleaning and sanitizing according to the standards. A spray bottle of bleach and water was available, but not a bottle of soap and water.
Plan of Correction:
A spray bottle of soap and water was put in the room, and proper procedures were reviewed again with staff.
