Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/19/20 and concluded on 8/20/20. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 16 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on observation and interviews, it was determined that the facility did not ensure that all areas and equipment of the center shall be maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: 1. There are several broken fence boards on each playground. In addition, there is a section of fence that was knocked down in a storm and is laying on the ground. 2. Staff #3 confirmed the items listed above were not in a safe and operable condition
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded: We will contact the owners of the building in order to have the fence repaired or replaced.
