Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding children's records and medications.
Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:05am-1:00pm. There were 51 children directly supervised by 13 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground areas, programming, menus, 5 staff records, 6 children's records, 5 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing outside, engaging in water play, playing with blocks and puzzles, singing songs, listening to story time, and doing arts and crafts. Children were also observed eating lunch today which consisted of chili macaroni, applesauce, carrots, and milk. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Evidence:
1. Child #3's record did not contain documentation of an annual update of emergency contact information. Child #3's last documented annual review is dated 8/6/17.

The updated annual re-registration form was collected 08/13/19, along with the updated emergency contact.

1. Staff #3's (Date of Hire: 7/23/19) record does not contain documentation that two references were checked as to character, reputation, and competency before beginning employment. Staff #3's record contained documentation of 1 completed reference check.

The 2nd employee reference was obtained 08/14/19.
