Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/18/2023 and concluded on 1/18/2023. There were a total of 4 children (9 points) observed with 1 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, blocks and diapering. The home, 2 child records, 3 caregiver/household member records, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation, areas of the family day home are not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: A wooden floor plank is missing from the floor directly outside from the bathroom. Another wooden floor plank outside the bathroom is bowed, possibly causing a tripping hazard.

Plan of Correction: The floor will be repaired.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, is not stored inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Disinfectants were observed in the bathroom cabinet under the sink, the cabinet was not locked, leaving the disinfectants accessible to the children in care.

Plan of Correction: The disinfectants will be removed from the cabinet to a locked area until a lock can be placed on the cabinet.
