Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted on April 30, 2024. Upon arrival at 12:30 pm there were a total of 4 children ages 2-4 years old, under the care of 1 staff present. The Licensing Inspector reviewed children, staff/household and pet records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on inspection & discussion with the Provider, the Licensee failed to have a carbon monoxide detector in each building that was built before 2015 and that houses a child day program that serves preschool-age children.
EVIDENCE: FDH was not equipped with a carbon monoxide detector.
Plan of Correction:
Provider will purchase a carbon monoxide detector or locate a previously purchased carbon monoxide detector.

Description:
Based on inspection, the Licensee failed to ensure small electrical appliances unplugged unless being used by the caregiver or with children under close supervision.
EVIDENCE: Small electrical appliances located in the kitchen were plugged into the electrical outlets while not in use.

Provider will keep small appliances unplugged when not in use. Corrected during the inspection.

Description:
Based on inspection, the Licensee failed to maintain hot water temperature at taps available to the children within a range of 105 degrees F to 120 degrees F.
EVIDENCE: The hot water temperature in the bathroom sink used by the children in care registered 128.3 degrees F.
Plan of Correction:
Provider will adjust water heater temperature.
