Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/26/2020 and concluded on 5/28/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 children's records, 2 staff records and 2 household member records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and interview, emergency evacuation drills were not practiced monthly. Evidence: The last documented emergency drill is dated 11/19/2019. The provider confirmed that the November drill was the last practiced drill.

Based on record review and interview, all employees and household members did not undergo a background check every five years. Evidence: The provider's most recent central registry background check expired 5/5/2020. Household member #1's most recent central registry background check expired 5/5/2020. The provider was unaware that the background checks had expired.
