Technical Assistance:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/11 and concluded on 12/14/20 The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 54 children present and 28 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) children?s records and (2) staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on review of staff records, two background checks were not obtained prior to hire. Evidence: Staff #1 was hired on 11/09/2020, two out of state criminal background checks were not requested prior to hire.
Plan of Correction:
We obtain these two background checks and will forward the results to the Licensing Inspector once received.
