A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on October 16, 2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of entrance, 89 children were in care with 15 supervising staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based on record review and interview, all staff who work directly with children did not have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. Evidence: 1. Staff #2's record (Date of hire-06/23/2023) did not have documentation of current certification in CPR. 2. Staff #6 confirmed that Staff #2 did not complete certification in CPR to date. 3. Staff #3 (Date of hire-05/01/2023) did not complete certification of CPR within 90 days of the date of employment. Staff #3's record contained documentation of certification completed on 09/23/2023.
