Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on October 16, 2020 and concluded on October 23, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were ten children present and two staff. The Inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children's records and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on observation and discussion with staff, the center failed to ensure medication shall be labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given.
Evidence:
1. Medication (A) was not labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given. The original label created by the dispensary was not in possession by the center.
