Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 1/30/2020 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure that within the first 90 days of employment that all staff who work directly with children completed Virginia Pre-service Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence: 1. Staff #2 who had a hire date of 8/28/19 did not have documentation of completion of the pre-service training.
2. Staff #2 was asked if the training was completed and stated that it was not.
Plan of Correction:
Staff #2 will complete the pre-service training this evening.
