Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 07/21/2020 and concluded on 07/24/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There was 1 child present with the provider. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspection reviewed 1 child's record, 1 caregiver record and 1 household member record submitted by the provider to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the family day home.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.
Based on record review and interview, the provider failed to ensure that applicants shall undergo a background check every five years.
Evidence: 1 The most recent central registry check for the applicant was completed on 11/25/2014. a. The applicant confirmed that an updated central registry check had not been obtained.
