Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on 6/21/2023. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law. Violations are identified on the violation notice.
Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Ten staff records were reviewed. The record for staff #6 , who was rehired 6/10/2022, contained the most recent CPR certification which expired 11/17/2020. The program director did was unable to provide this documentation during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
The program director will ensure all staff are trained in CPR within 90 days of employment by getting them scheduled for a class prior to working on the floor.

Based on a review of records and interview, the licensee did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children annually attend the department's health and safety update course, Evidence: Ten staff records were reviewed. The record for staff #6, who was rehired 6/10/2022, did not contain documentation to demonstrate that he attended the program's health and safety course since his re-hire. The program director did was unable to provide this documentation during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
The Administrative Assistant will ensure all Virginia updates are completed prior to working on the floor by collecting and signing off on all certificates.
