Technical Assistance:
1. COVID-19 health and safety guidelines were reviewed, as were the enhanced safety practices being implemented by the center.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the center was not conducted at this time.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 6/29/20, and concluded on 6/30/20. The assistant director of the center was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. 30 children + 7 direct-care staff were observed during the virtual component of the inspection. Additional staff were on-site. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. The inspector emailed the assistant director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children's records, 3 staff records, and other operational documents that were submitted by the assistant director to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or laws, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued. Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 3 children's records did not include documentation of immunizations before the child attended the program. Evidence: Child #1 - To-date, there were no immunizations on-file. The child's first date of attendance was 2/17/20.
