Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 2, 2020 and concluded on June 2, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were five children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records and one staff record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of one provider record, the provider did not obtain the results of a central registry background check every five years. Evidence: The licensing inspector observed the record for Provider #1 contained a Central Registry search result dated 4/29/15.
Plan of Correction:
The provider reports the request was mailed prior to the expiration date, however no results have been returned. The provider will follow up with OBI and provide licensing with documentation of the background search request. The background results will be provided to licensing when obtained.
