Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on December 28, 2020 and concluded on January 5, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children?s records, two staff records, and five board member records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on a review of records and interview, the center did not obtain all of the required out-of-state background checks for one staff member.
Evidence: 1. The record for staff #2 (date of hire 06/22/20) did not contain a Criminal Background Check, a Sex Offender Registry Check or a Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Check. 2. The director confirmed that the out-of-state background checks has not been requested until 11/20/20.
