A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on October 30, 2023 and concluded on November 28, 2023. There were 15 children present with two staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
REPEAT VIOLATION Based on record review, the center did not ensure that all staff complete the The Virginia Health and Safety Update Training, annually.
Evidence: 1. The record for staff #1 (employed: 6/30/22) did not have documentation of the required Virginia Health and Safety Update Training. The training needed to be completed on or before 06/30/23. 2. The record for staff #3 (employed: 10/22/18) had documentation of the Virginia Health and Safety Update Training on 8/31/23. The Virginia Health and Safety Update Training needed to be completed on or before 1/17/23.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will do update training with in the year. Program Lead will implement. Deadlines will be set and followed through. Staff audits will be conducted.
